Mr. Kumagai (Bear) is the initiator and co-founder of Tao Bears LLC. His specialty includes software development team assessments, process management philosophy and methodology, and system software design and requirement analyses methods. With over 35 years of experience in the software industry, he gave a number of talks and lectures at computer technology and research conferences and workshops. As one of his strength is in bridging commercial industiries and academic researches, the audience of his talks includes both software development specialists and academic researchers. He served for many domestic and international conferences as Conference Chair as well as Program Committee.

Mr. Kumagai is a lecturer at Tokyo International University in Japan from 2000, teaching such cources titled "Information Society and Computer" and "Semiotics and Culture". From 2003 to 2006 he was General Manager at Tokyo Electron Ltd. (TEL), a leading global supplier of semiconductor production equipment, and responsible for application of object-oriented software technologies to control semiconductor production equipments. Prior to join TEL he worked for PFU Ltd. and Fujitsu Ltd. From 1993 to 2003 he was in software research and development sections and headed several R&D projects. From 1992 to 1993 he played a major role to establish PFU Shanghai Co. Ltd. in China and served as the first Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Kumagai was born in 1947 in Japan. He received B.S. in Physics from Yamagata University in Japan in 1970.
